The Winnebago County UW-Extension office runs a free program titled Grandparents Raising Grandchildren that is open to the public, and we would like to announce our upcoming support group meeting on September 20th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the J.P. Coughlin Center in Oshkosh.
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren is a program where grandparents and other family members raising children of another relative can turn to each other to find the support, comfort, and education they need. This program focuses on the roles relative caregivers play and provides an opportunity to meet others who share similar experiences, knowledge, strengths, and hopes. Meetings run throughout the school year and alternate between programs on relevant topics (legal services, childcare issues, etc.) and a support group meeting.
Childcare is available for children ages 0 – 17 years with advanced registration. For the September 20th meeting, childcare is limited to the first 20 children registered. All families attending are required to RSVP no later than 1 week in advance by calling (920) 232-1973.
For more information or to register, call (920) 232-1973.
